NDA leaders will get together at the residence of the alliances working chairman L K Advani on July 26 to work out their strategy for the monsoon session of Parliament. The session starts on the same day.

Since presiding officers of the two Houses are scheduled to call leaders of political parties ahead of the meeting,the constituents of the Opposition alliance have already set their priorities right. The most important issue for us will be price rise, NDA convenor Sharad Yadav said on Tuesday.

The choice is logical as inflation was a unifying issue for all opposition formations as shown by the success of the country-wide bandh on July 5.

Meanwhile,on the eve of a meeting of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers on GST roll-out,Finance Ministers of NDA-ruled states met at BJP parliamentary party chairman L K Advanis residence here on Tuesday and discussed the approach to be taken at the meeting.

Though the BJP or the NDA has so far not arrived at a common position,it was decided that states should press for the Centres compensation for their losses. The unanimous view was that the Centre should hold more consultations to narrow down the differences and should not rush through with the GST implementation. The Centre should also provide incentives to states to encourage them to adopt GST.
