Issues related to central assistance for development of tourism activities in Jammu and Kashmir will be the focus of a Parliamentary Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting chaired by Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay on Friday,said the officials.
A 24-member PCC delegation led by Sahay will arrive on Friday.
The meeting is likely to discuss various issues related to the development of tourism activities in the state which requires Centre’s assistance, an official spokesman said.
He said Sahay would chair the meeting,which among others will be attended by his deputy Sultan Ahmad.
Meanwhile,tourists have started flocking Kashmir in large numbers,raising expectations that their arrival this season will cross the all-time high of 10 lakh,officials said.
The state tourism industry had suffered major setbacks during the last three years due to summer unrest in the valley.
