Narang records highest break

Rahul Narang from Shivaji Park Gymkhana ‘Golden Eagles’ produced the best performance in the opening week of the World Zoroastrian Organisation Trust Mumbai snooker league,organised by the Billiards & Snooker Association of Maharashtra.

Rahul Narang from Shivaji Park Gymkhana (SPG) ‘Golden Eagles’ produced the best performance in the opening week of the World Zoroastrian Organisation (WZO) Trust Mumbai (16-red) snooker league,organised by the Billiards & Snooker Association of Maharashtra.

Narang,playing with a handicap of plus 45,not only compiled the highest break of 53 during the week,but also won all his four frames to steer Golden Eagles to identical 3-1 margin of victories against Dadar Parsee Colony Gymkhana (DPCG) ‘Snooker Stars’,in both the home and away matches in Group ‘B’. His effort of 53 came against M Amroliwalla in the second frame of the away tie.

The other notable efforts came from the cues of Mukund Bharadia (45) of Spring Club ‘Bulk Line Potters’ and Kabil Badami (33) of ECC Barracudas.

Meanwhile elsewhere,Elphinstone Cricket Club (ECC) started off strongly as all their three cueists registered victories. ECC ‘Boombangabang’ rallied to victory by clinching the last three frames in both the home and away ties to beat CRMI Parel ‘Central Stars’ (3-2,3-2) in Group C,ECC ‘Piranhas’ tamed Dombivli Gymkhana ‘Sundaram’ (3-0,3-1) in Group K and in Group M,ECC ‘Barracudas’ put it across Parsee Gymkhana ‘Scoundrels’ (3-0,3-2).
