A Lokayukta team today conducted raids at various premises of an engineer in the Madhya Pradesh government and recovered assets worth over Rs 4 crore disproportionate to his known source of income.
Sleuths of Special Establishment Police of Indore Lokayukta conducted raids at the premises of Rural Engineering Department’s superintendent engineer M K Jain here following reports of corruption against him,SP (Lokayukta) Virendra Singh told PTI.
After the raids and interrogation of the accused,the Lokayukta team found Rs 2.63 lakh cash,LIC policies worth Rs 16 lakh,cash in bank accounts totalling around Rs six lakh,a luxury car,four motorcycles,two flats in Sagar,besides a number of land plots,Singh said.
The engineer also owns a drug store in the city and has some lockers that needs to be examined,Singh said.
