Manpreet launches signature ring tone

Rebel Akali leader and former finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal released a telephone ring tone on Wednesday. Like many of the symbols that are now part of Manpreet and his supporters,such as the mashaal (torch),the colour basanti (yellow) or the choice of Khatkar Kalan to announce his party,the ring tone,too,is inspired from freedom fighter Bhagat Singhs life.

It contains parts of the famous song synonymous with Bhagat Singh Mera Rang de basanti chola interspersed with Manpreets voice.

This ring tone is a personal inspiration for me and all those who work with me. It is for self motivation, says the former Punjab finance minister. Asked if this would help him get votes,his reply is: No. This is not for voters. The issues for a voter are different. We are personally inspired by Bhagat Singh and his sacrifices.

A hi-tech Manpreet can also be reached by SMS on 54646 if one agrees with his ideas. This number was launched on January 14 and in the last four days,claims Manpreets aide Charanjit Singh,they have received over 20,000 responses.
