‘Govt wasting public money on publicity’

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil on Monday said the credit for the state’s development in the last 50 years goes to all Gujaratis and not to any individual or government.

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil on Monday said the credit for the state’s development in the last 50 years goes to all Gujaratis and not to any individual or government. He was in Somnath to flag off the Congress’s Gujarat Gaurav Yatra. He said,at the time of the state’s foundation, late Pandit Ravishankar Maharaj had urged all to spend money for the welfare of the people rather than on publicity, festivity or celebrations. “But the Narendra Modi government is squandering public money under the garb of the Swarnim Gujarat celebrations,” said Gohil. He said the government was paying Rs 7 crore to a film company for a seven-minute song at a time when the pension amount for widows has not been increased and the employees working on fixed salaries were not paid fully.
