In a fresh salvo,Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for asking Muslims to wear burqas and skull caps during their meetings.

Denouncing the attempt by the main Opposition party,the Congress general secretary posted a tweet: “BJP wants Muslims to come wearing Burqas and Skull Cap in their meetings. Dress Code or Vote Bank Politics? Would pl Media ask BJP?”

The tweet by the Congress leader came after a report suggested that the minority cell of the BJP had issued a diktat,asking people to follow a particular dress code for a rally in Jaipur on Tuesday.

According to the report,men were asked to wear sherwanis and skulls caps while females were asked to wear burqas. The rally is slated to be addressed by BJP poll panel chief Narendra Modi,and attended by party president Rajnath Singh and former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje.
