The salaries of the employees of Municipal Corporation (MC) is likely to be computerised.
The proposal for the same would be discussed in the house meet of the MC,to be held next week.
The first group of councillors who went on a study tour to Bangalore,Coimbatore and Mysore observed the system in practice during the tour.
It is proposed that the process of giving salaries be computerised.
The councillors have time and again pointed out that when they conduct checks, especially in case of sanitation workers,it is found that the number of workers are less than what the contractor claims are present.
The councillors have complained about the poor quality of work due to the lack of workers.
Some employees have complained about not receiving their salaries on time.
It was felt that if the salaries are computerised, the contractors would not be able to fudge the figures.
Computerisation could solve all these problems and ensure more transparency in the system.
Another proposal that would be taken up in the House Meeting will be the setting up of a round the clock Public Grievances Redressal (PGR) Centre where people could voice their complaints.
For the purpose a special software would be used.
After people register their complaints,an SMS would be sent to the officers concerned.
Then residents will be asked for their feedback in this process.
