A Prospective Lok Sabha candidate fabricated a story that he was robbed of Rs 25 lakh in the hope that he would get the ticket and earn sympathy without losing anything.

But,he never had the money to begin with and he is not going to get the ticket. Worse, the police have initiated criminal proceedings against him and his driver.

Gayadin Ahirwar,a resident of Tikamgarh, was the official candidate of the BSP. Three days ago,on his way to Bhopal from Tikamgarh to deposit Rs 25 lakh in the party headquarters,he alleged that two persons in police uniform had robbed him. Given the allegation that their own men were involved in the loot, the police quickly sealed the boundaries.

We were suspicious from the beginning, Raisen SP K C Jain told The Indian Express. Two teams questioned Ahirwar and driver Ramdin Chourasiya separately. Simultaneously, they inquired in his native village to find out about his financial condition.

The duo spilled the beans later, with Ahirwar alleging that he had been asked to deposit the Rs 25 lakh in the party fund ,something the BSP has denied.

BSP leader Raju Bharati said Ahirwar was not likely to get the ticket though the party will announce its final decision later.
