A day after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modis puppy analogy triggered an outrage,Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma,in a veiled attack on Modi, cautioned the people on Saturday against allowing a mad dog from polluting the temple of democracy. Verma was in Chunar,Mirzapur to lay the foundation stone of a steel processing unit on Saturday. Loktantra ke mandir ko kisi pagal kutte sey pradushit na hone dey. Yeh janata ka farz hai. (It is the responsibility of countrys people for not letting any mad dog to pollute the temple of democracy), Verma said. He said that the country got its freedom due to the sacrifices of both Hindus and Muslims. Both the communities have given sacrifices for the countrys freedom. Contribution by any community cannot be undermined, he said. Verma also lashed out at Modi for his claim to wipe out the Congress from the country and announcing to construct a 200-foot statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Modis claim is ridiculous. He wants to wipe out the Congress from the country and build an idol of Sardar Patel who remained in the Congress his whole life. Even Sardar Patels daughter Maniben Patel was a Congress MP till her death. Now Modi wants to construct a statue of Sardar Patel,it is ridiculous and contradictory, he said. He also said that BJP general secretary and UP incharge Amit Shah had visited Ramlala temple in Ayodhya not to seek forgiveness for his sins but for saving himself from going to jail. He did not pray for wiping out the Congress but prayed that he is not jailed, he said. Surprisingly,he softened his stand towards SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav, who had targeted in the recent past. He is my old friend but we are politically apart. I have requested for leasing out the iron ore mines in Lalitpur and Sonbhadra so that we can set up factories. It will be beneficial to the people of the state who will get jobs, he said.
