Badal invites Manpreet in party fold

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal invited Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP) president Manpreet Singh Badal into the Shiromani Akali Dal fold.

In a move that some political pundits termed as waiving the white flag,Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday invited Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP) president Manpreet Singh Badal into the Shiromani Akali Dal fold.

We welcome those who want to come back. They will be given the same regard and status, the chief minister said adding that the doors of the SAD are always open for Manpreet Singh Badal.

He was addressing the media after former Rajya Sabha MP from Hoshiarpur Varinder Bajwa rejoined SAD along with his supporters severing ties with the PPP.

Badal said it was the result of the people friendly policies of his party that the politicians not only from PPP,led by former finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal,but also from other parties were joining the SAD. He said that with the inclusion of Bajwa and his supporters in SAD,the party would get more strength in Doaba region.

Bajwa,meanwhile,said said there were no differences between him and the SAD. He said that he left the PPP as Manpreet could not live up to the promises he had made at the time of forming PPP.

The former MP,ironically,had earlier joined Manpreet on the pretext that he was ignored by the SAD.
