Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Highlights: Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has announced its seat-sharing deal in Bihar. Of the 40 LS seats, the BJP will contest in 17 while JD(U) has been given 16 seats. Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is set to contest 5 of 40 LS seats. Extending his South push in Karnataka's Shivamogga ahead of the LS polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he is confident that the "lotus of development" will bloom in the state on June 4, the day the election results are scheduled to be announced. Addressing a public rally in the home turf of former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today, he also hit out at the Opposition bloc and said: "INDIA bloc wants to finish 'Hindu Shakti'". He was referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying that the INDIA bloc's fight is not against Modi, but against a "Shakti" (power) that is running the system in the country. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has transferred the Home secretaries of six states including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls.
