In the manifesto released Tuesday by party president Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress, in the section titled Law and Justice, said law and Constitution are “sacrosanct and cannot be violated by individuals and organisations like Bajrang Dal, PFI or others promoting enmity or hatred, whether among majority or minority communities”.

The party said it is “committed to take firm and decisive action against individuals and organisations spreading hatred amongst communities on grounds of caste and religion”. It said it will “take decisive action as per law including imposing a ban on any such organisations”.

The party’s other poll promises include a hike in the reservation ceiling from 50% to 75%, including restoration of a 4% quota for Muslims, a return to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), and repeal of all “unjust laws and other anti-people laws passed by the BJP government” within a year of assuming power.
