Akram M is Assistant Editor at the Bengaluru Bureau. Over the past decade, he has covered five elections, recurring floods and droughts, communal riots and other subjects that affected Karnataka. Though his interests are varied, he is currently focused on understanding the impacts of public policy on the common man. A science graduate, who pursued his post-graduation in Journalism at Mangalore University, he relishes pouring over data/statistics, so as to communicate what the numbers actually mean. He started his career as an education reporter, and has covered crime, science, health and civic affairs, before switching to political reporting four years ago. Ground reporting is his forte and believes in providing a voice to the weak and downtrodden. You can often find him strumming basic chords on a guitar or learning ways to beat bosses of Souls games.
