Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has voted in the first phase on September 18 and now the second and third phases of voting will take place on 25 and October 1, 2024. Results will be announced on October 8, along with Haryana assembly results.

The people of the valley will vote five years after the reading down of Article 370 and the end of “special status” — a period in which the political process had come to a standstill.

The last Assembly elections in J&K were held in 2014, but the government was dissolved after the BJP withdrew its support to Mehbooba Mufti’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government in 2018.
