Chhattisgarh will go to the polls on November 7 and November 17, 2023. The state assembly, whose term expires on January 3, next year, will have a total of 90 seats contesting the polls, including 10 reserved for Scheduled Caste and 29 for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
More than two crore voters will be eligible to exercise their franchise in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, the only one among the five poll-bound states to go to the polls in two phases. The results will be declared on December 3, 2023.
Even as the Congress and the BJP continue to remain the major contenders during the elections in the state, Aam Aadmi Party is all geared up to debut as a player to watch out for this time.
In 2018, the Congress swept the polls in Chhattisgarh, clinching 68 of the 90 seats with BJP securing a distant second position with 15 seats in its kitty.
