Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service said on Thursday it had charged former BBC Radio DJ Tim Westwood with four counts of rape and nine counts of indecent assault.
The charges relate to alleged offences against seven women that took place between 1983 and 2016, the police said.
Westwood, 68, is also facing two counts of sexual assault.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on November 11.
Westwood could immediately not be reached for comment.
The presenter has previously denied all allegations of sexual misconduct made against him.
When the first accusations surfaced in April 2022, his representative issued a statement saying he “strongly rejects all allegations of wrongdoing”.
