Police in Greece are searching for gunman who shot down Przemyslaw Jeziorski, an associate professor of marketing at the University of California, Berkeley on July 4, when he was visiting his children and attending a family custody hearing. Jeziorski, 43, an economist and professor of marketing at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business was shot multiple times from close range in a residential area in Athens while he was heading to visit his two children. Jeziorski was killed on a street which was nearby where his children live, his brother Lukasz Jeziorski said in a statement on Facebook. According to Athens police spokesperson Konstantina Dimoglidou, “A masked gunman approached the victim on foot and opened fire from close range at about 4:15 pm, which hit the victim in his neck and chest,” reported CNN. Police added that they recovered 7 bullet casings from a 9mm caliber firearm from the scene. On July 14, UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business confirmed the death of its professor which took place in a residential suburb in Athens. The school said that Green and international authorities are probing Jeziorski’s death as a homicide. Since police have not been able to track down the suspects in almost two weeks when the killing took place, friends and family are demanding that authorities intensify their efforts. Police informed that the shooting took place near the home of Jeziorski’s ex-wife in the suburb of Agia Paraskevi, a day after the marketing professor attended a custody court hearing. A report in CNN quoted a senior police source who said that authorities are examining all possible scenarios, including close family members. The source added that murder “bore signs of a contract killing,” and therefore links to organized crime are also being probed. On a fundraising page, his brother Lukasz Jeziorski said “He was the victim of a terrible crime, and the perpetrator is still at large.”
