A large emergency services personnel presence was seen at the site of the crash with police, firefighters and rescue teams present to aid in rescue efforts. The property suffered structural damage due to the crash and fire.

The second victim who died in the crash has not been identified yet and the investigators are trying to ascertain the details of the second victim. Associated Press reported three people were identified who were living in the residential building in which the plane crashed.

Out of the three, two were not there in the building when the incident took place and they checked in with the police later.

The pilot took off on Saturday from Alkersleben, near the eastern German city of Erfurt. Reports suggested pilot experienced technical snag in the aircraft mid-air but the official reason behind the crash remains under investigation.
