Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s “victory plan” is pushing NATO towards direct conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

Zakharova said the plan Zelenskyy presented to his parliament would lead to disaster for the Ukrainian people.

In his speech, Zelenskyy urged his allies to take urgent action to strengthen Kyiv at a critical moment, aiming to bring the conflict with Russia to an end by next year.

The Kremlin earlier remarked that it was too soon to comment in detail on the plan but suggested that Kyiv needed to “sober up” and realise the futility of its current policies.
