An Israeli diplomat posted in India, who re-tweeted posts perceived to be critical of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is being recalled by the Israeli government. He is one of the three diplomats, serving in different parts of the world, who are facing the same fate after tweeting or re-tweeting against the Israeli PM amid a heated election in the country.
Israeli media reports said that Assaf Moran, who handles political affairs at the embassy in New Delhi, re-tweeted a post by PR specialist Moshe Gaon. Moshe’s tweet said: “Netanyahu understood — do everything except for talk about social issues. Whining, corruption, Sara, associations, security — everything except for an agenda that replaces the ruling power.”

Moran also praised Channel 10 news anchor Raviv Drucker on Twitter and wrote, “Raviv Drucker the genius!” after the anchor engaged in a confrontation with the representative of the Netanyahu family lawyer David Shomron.
After Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman called for his suspension, Moran erased all posts from his Twitter account where he identified himself as a diplomat.
Reports said that Lieberman on Wednesday ordered the immediate suspension of Israel’s ambassador to Switzerland Yigal Caspi, Assaf Moran and Yaron Gamburg, a Political Research Department employee and former spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Paris.
