(Photo: X/Denis Beganovic) A major fire outbreak gutted historic warehouses in the city of St. Louis in Missouri, on Friday morning. According to local media reports, at least two large warehouses were on fire in downtown St. Louis early Friday morning at 2nd and Gratiot near the Mississippi River.
St. Louis City Fire Department Chief Dennis Jenkerson said over 200 firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the fire that broke out at around 3 am.
According to Jenkerson, the fire has since been contained. He, however, added that more flare-ups could occur as embers continue to burn through the early morning.

Authorities said no injuries have been reported due to the fire that occurred at the site linked to the $1.2 billion Gateway South revival plans. An investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
