A man set off an explosive device during a document check at a railway station in northern Ukraine on Friday, killing himself and three women, Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service said, according to Reuters.
The blast happened at the station in Ovruch, near the border with Belarus. The border guard service said 12 other people were injured. It said the women who died were aged 29, 58 and 82, and a border guard was among them.
The man who carried the explosive was a 23-year-old from Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine. The statement said he had recently been detained for trying to cross the border.
The statement made no link to Russia’s war in Ukraine, Reuters reported.
