Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the opening of a Cabinet meeting on Sunday that contacts with Syria are underway with “some progress”, but that the two sides were still far apart.

Syria’s President Ahmed al-Sharaa said on Wednesday that ongoing negotiations with Israel to reach a security pact could lead to results “in the coming days.”
