The conflict between Israel and Hamas would pause from January 19 as a ceasefire deal was signed between them on Wednesday, bringing a possible end to a devastating 15-month conflict. The hostilities between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas has raged since October 2023 and has seen an escalation between Israel and Iran, and even opened a direct conflict between Israel and Lebanon based Hezbollah group. Israel and Hamas have been at war in Gaza since October 7, 2023 when the militant group in a surprise attack killed over 1,200 people in Israel and took around 250 people as hostage, according to Israeli tally.
