Tech billionaire Elon Musk has reacted to US President Donald Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro’s jibe and said that X is a platform where “people decide the narrative” and that Community Notes “corrects everyone” while the platform’s AI Grok further “fact-checks everyone”.
Musk also criticised the main stream media and accused it of “lying relentlessly or ignoring major stories that don’t fit their narrative”. This comes after Navarro lashed out at Musk after his post on X criticisng India buying Russian oil was flagged by community notes feature that allows users to add “context”.
On this platform, the people decide the narrative.
You hear all sides of an argument.
Community Notes corrects everyone, no exceptions. Notes data & code is public source.
Grok provides further fact-checking.

Navarro called the community note on his X post as “crap” and alleged that Elon Musk is allowing the propaganda while reiterating his claim that “India buys Russia oil solely to profiteer. It didn’t buy any before Russia invaded Ukraine.”
Musk, in a response to Navarro, said on X, “On this platform, the people decide the narrative. You hear all sides of an argument. Community Notes corrects everyone, no exceptions. Notes data & code is public source. Grok provides further fact-checking.”
Musk also reshared a post which claimed that X has emerged as the news platform which is in real time and can be fact-checked. The tech billionaire claimed that legacy news has lost credibility, stating “As recent events have shown all too clearly, you can’t trust the legacy (fka mainstream) news at all. They lie relentlessly or simply ignore major stories that don’t fit their collectively decided narrative.”
