A gigantic golden statue of Donald Trump stands in the heart of the Gaza Strip, surrounded by gleaming skyscrapers. In this AI-generated vision of Gaza’s future, the US President is seen dancing with a scantily clad belly dancer in a bar, then sunbathing by a resort pool with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at one of his hotels, emblazoned with the large golden words “Trump Gaza.” Cross-dressing men with beards dance on the beach, while Tesla CEO and Trump confidante Elon Musk walks through showers of cash, and children gaze upward as dollar bills rain from the sky — this is the United States President’s vision for Gaza, a region currently in a state of devastation and ongoing aftermath of war. At least, that’s how a video generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), shared by him on Truth Social and Instagram, depicts it.

Amid row over his comments about “taking over” the Gaza Strip, Trump shared an AI-generated video on Tuesday, showing a transformation of Gaza from rubble to an extravagant tourist destination. Earlier this year, Trump announced his plan for Gaza’s future, saying that once the war between Israel and Hamas is over, he wants to “take over” the region and turn it into “the Riviera of the Middle East.” His comments received both praise from his allies and criticism from Hamas and the Arab world. Trump described Gaza as a “demolition site,” where “virtually every building is down.”

The video begins by showing Gaza’s current state — war-torn and covered in rubble, heavily bombarded by Israeli jets following the October 7, 2023 attack. However, as the citizens shift their gaze, the scene changes to a transformed city flaunting yachts docked along the coast, luxury cars on its streets, a skyscraper that resembles the Empire State Building, and a colossal golden statue of Donald Trump.

In the video, a song can be heard in the backdrop, whose lyrics go, “Donald’s coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear: Trump Gaza’s finally here/ Trump Gaza’s shining bright, golden future, a brand new life/ Feast and dance the deal is done, Trump Gaza number one.”

The video also shows a smiling Elon Musk enjoying a meal on the beach, a boy holding a golden balloon shaped like Trump’s face, and the US President dancing in a nightclub. In the middle of the city, a massive building adorned with a “Trump Gaza” sign shows his influence, while a shop selling Trump miniatures as souvenirs further reaffirms his dominance. At the end, however, the video shows Trump and Netanyahu relaxing by a pool in beach outfits, sipping on summer coolers.

During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the US, Trump reiterated that the ongoing ceasefire-hostage deal between Israel and Hamas will be the “beginning of a larger and more enduring peace.”

Trump’s remarks drew a lot of criticism globally with several leaders condemning the idea to take over the Palestinian land. Calling Trump’s plan “ridiculous and absurd,” senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said they consider the plan a “recipe for generating chaos and tension in the region.”

Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Secretary-General Hussein al-Sheikh said the PLO rejects all calls for the displacement of the Palestinians from their homeland, according to Al Jazeera report. In a post on X, he said, “The Palestinian leadership affirms its firm position that the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy and international law, is the guarantee of security, stability and peace.”

Saudi Arabia also reiterated its support for an independent Palestinian state and said that it would not have diplomatic ties with Israel until the creation of such a state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
