Fire service teams rescued at least 42 people from the building, known as Jabal E Nur Tower, located in a market area of the Bangladesh capital, according to the state-run BSS news agency.
After 32 long hours, the child who had fallen into a tube well in Rajshahi has been rescued alive by the Fire Service personnel.

The Fire Service and Civil Defence received the first alert at 5.37 am local time, and units reached the site within minutes, news portal tbsnews.net reported.
“Eighteen firefighting units were deployed to bring the fire under control,” fire service media officer Anwarul Islam said.
Border Guard Bangladesh personnel were also sent to the area to help manage crowds and allow emergency vehicles to move freely. “Our teams assisted in maintaining law and order at the site,” BGB public relations officer Shariful Islam said.
Senior Staff Officer (Media Cell) Md Shahjahan Shikdar said the complex consists of several buildings sharing one basement. “The ground and first floors are used as a market with garment shops and small scrap warehouses, while the upper floors are residential apartments,” he said, adding that the basement has only two entry points.
Firefighters had to break open locked shutters of many shops to reach the flames, which slowed the operation, officials said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Local residents and shop owners said scrap clothes stored in the basement may have fuelled the blaze, but officials said the origin was still being investigated, The Daily Star reported.
The incident is the second major fire in a multi-storey building in Dhaka in recent months. On October 14, a blaze at a chemical warehouse and a nearby garment factory killed at least 16 people.
Bangladesh has seen several deadly industrial fires in the past, often linked to safety failures. In 2021, a fire at a food and beverage factory killed at least 52 people. In 2019, a blaze in Old Dhaka killed at least 67. The country’s worst industrial disaster occurred in 2013, when the Rana Plaza factory collapse killed more than 1,100 people.
