Police have confirmed the deaths of 3 persons in a shootout in a shopping mall at Columbia, Maryland in the US on Saturday.

It is unclear who opened fire and why. The police said they have found a body lying next to a gun.
As per latest reports, the scene has been secured by the Maryland State Police police.
An eyewitness said all hell broke loose when the shooting started, and people were shouting and trying to flee the place.
The mall is situated in the vicinity of the US capital district.
