Weather forecast Today Live News Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Friday predicted heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning in isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The IMD also predicted rainfall in parts Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep. Parts of Jammu and Kashmir might also receive fresh snowfall, the IMD said.
Meanwhile, in the national capital, the air quality is again expected to dip to the ‘severe’ category, with calm wind and lower temperatures ineffective in the dispersal of pollutants.
However, light rainfall with good wind speed is also in the forecast for November 26. SAFAR has also said an improvement in air quality is likely by Saturday, owing to a passing Western disturbance which would increase wind speed.
The overall air quality in Delhi stood at 347 at 9 am today, according to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
Pollution levels in Delhi have risen and are in the very poor to severe category, Skymet Weather said. Until Nov 27, the conditions are likely to be worse. The air quality is likely to improve in Delhi and NCR.
