Passengers travelling in the air conditioning coach on the Jabalpur-Mumbai Garib Rath Express train were taken aback after a snake was seen coiled up to the side upper berth. According to the viral post, the incident happened in coach number 617 of the train.
The video shows the snake coiled around the support on the side of the berths that allows the passenger to manoeuvre from the upper to lower seats. As the video progressed, the snake attempted to enter the AC vent, leading to panicked chatter among the passengers.
Sharing the video on X, a journalist wrote, “Snake in train! Snake in AC G17 coach of 12187 Jabalpur-Mumbai Garib Rath Express train. Passengers sent to another coach and G17 locked.”

In another post, the journalist informed that the snake slithered in the coach from a nearby tree when the train halted near the Kasara railway station in Maharashtra. Several passengers reportedly attempted to get hold of the reptile by throwing blankets, but in vain.
The coach was finally detached from the train after the snake slithered into the AC panel.
