A video of a teacher lying on the floor in a classroom while her students fanned her at a government school in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh has got social media talking. However, the school authorities clarified and called the video misleading.

The school teacher, in the viral clip, appears to be dozing off in the class while a few students take turns to fan her. Sharing the video, an X handle @Gluzar_sahab wrote, “When the teachers are like this then how will the teaching be, lady teacher makes the innocent children breathe air to get relief from the scorching heat. A video of a teacher in Aligarh making innocent children fan her in the humid heat is going viral on social media. It is from a government school in Gokulpur village of Dhanipur block of Aligarh, UP.”

Soon after the video sparked outrage on social media, District Basic Education Officer Rakesh Singh clarified and said the teacher fell from a chair while teaching. “The investigation found that the claim of fanning was not true; the teacher had fallen from a chair, and the children were fanning her as she needed first aid,” Singh told news agency ANI.

A similar video emerged on social media early this month where a teacher in a government school in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district was seen resting in the classroom while students played during the class hours. After the criticism on social media, the school principal had clarified that the teacher was unwell.
