Amid the Holi festivities, a video of an unconventional dish gulab jamun chaat has emerged online. This amalgamation of savoury and sweet has created a stir on social media, leaving foodies confused and disgusted.
The viral video begins with four tempting gulab jamuns on a plate. However, things turn unappetising after it is topped with a thick layer of curd, followed by sweet and green chutney. It is further topped with pomegranate and nylon sev, more like dahi vadas.
Sharing the video on X, a user wrote, “Gulab Jamun Chaat anyone??? I am fasting warna me kha leta (I am fasting, else I would have tried this).”

Soon after the video came to light, social media users couldn’t keep calm and strongly reacted to the dish. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Marna hai to thora zaher de do! Isko mujhse dur rakho (Consume poison if you want to die, but keep this away from me).” Another user commented, “Won’t taste bad if there’s no chashni. Or just skip meethi chutney and only put khatti and teekhi chutney. Not bad at all.”
“Before any one else, You should be put behind bars under PPFV (prevention from pathetic food videos,” the third user joked. “Who has committed this sin,” another user reacted.
Early this month, a video of cheesy gulab jamun pizza went viral. The video showed the chef at an eatery preparing the pizza dough with sweet syrup and adding a generous amount of gulab jamun and cheese onto the base. After baking the base, he goes on to top it with six whole gulab jamuns.
