Speaking to Allen, Lahoti said he did not do anything “special” but never went to bed without completing his goals for the day. “Maine aisa kuch special nahi kiya. Mera padhne mein interest tha toh jitna ho sake main utna padhta tha. JEE ka syllabus waise hi itna bada hai toh main roz goals select karta tha ki aaj itna padhna hai or ussi ke baad sona hai (I did not do anything special. I had an interest in my studies and planned accordingly. JEE’s syllabus is vast so I fixed goals for each day and never slept without completing them),” he said.
