A video showing a UK-based travel vlogger, Jack Aynsley, being asked by a policeman to refrain walking by Gokarna’s Kudle Beach in Karnataka has gone viral.

In the viral clip, Aynsley is seen strolling along the beach with his camera when a policeman approaches him, urging him not to cross the safety flag due to the high tide caused by bad weather. The cop, in broken English, warns the vlogger again, and explains that only fishermen are allowed in the area during these conditions.

However, despite the warning, Aynsley chooses to ignore the rule and continues to walk by the beach. “He has such a big Lathi in his hand, ready to scare anybody off. But not me. I am the explorer of Indian beaches. I shall not be moved from this very safe sand 40-50 feet away from the tide,” he says in the video.

With over 884,00,000 views, the viral video triggered a backlash. Many users came together to slam the vlogger. One user said, “He is not confusing you, you are confused.” Another user wrote, “You are crossing your limit by not listening to Police. Only fishermans allowed don’t you understand?”

“Dear, this video insulting the police who’s working on the hardest/worst situations? You think it’s right? If you are coming to India means just follow the rules, it’s not funny thing dear,” a third user wrote. “Don’t try to be oversmart everywhere.. when a keeper of a law and order is telling you it is not allowed you have to obey it,” another user wrote. “Oversmart clown,” commented another Instagram user.
