Popular Kerala YouTuber Sanju Techy recently caught the Internet’s attention after he set up a makeshift swimming pool inside his car. The video captured Sanju and his friends mimicking a scene from the Malayalam movie Aavesham.

Sanju—who shared the video on YouTube—can be seen taking a dip in the makeshift swimming pool as his friend drove the car through a busy road. They can also be seen sipping tender coconut water. After the water seeped into the driver’s seat and the engine, the men stopped the car to drain the water, triggering a traffic jam in the area.

Shared two weeks ago, the video received a backlash on social media. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “I showed this video to my 3rd grader who is hesitant to go to school. He understood the need for education and said that he would go to school without hesitation from now on.” Another user commented, “No matter how big you reach, you should not be proud.. Shibu Day.”

“A video of a young man who had his brain filled with garbage is doing rounds on social media,” a third user commented.

According to reports, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) lodged a complaint against Sanju for violating several traffic rules and suspended the vehicle’s registration certificate. “They released the water from the vehicle onto the road in a dangerous manner, creating serious safety threat to other vehicle users in the road,” a senior MVD official told local reporters.

Sanju and three others have also been directed to perform social service at the Government Medical College Hospital for a week and to attend the department’s training programme. The MVD also cancelled the license of the person who was driving the car.
