Amid several debates around Indians lacking civic sense, a video of a Russian tourist calling out children for casually littering on the street has escalated the widespread discussion. The clip, titled “Interaction with Indian kids went wrong,” shows Ameana Finds engaging with a group of children when one of them casually throws litter.

Finds promptly calls out the behaviour and urges the child to pick up the trash, but the situation quickly escalates. Instead of correcting their actions, the children respond defiantly, some even toss more litter in front of her.

“What did you do? You dropped it. You pick it up. Put it in a bin,” Finds tells them firmly. When the children refuse to listen, she adds, “It’s not okay. I’m not giving you anything. Look at this. It’s your country. You’re gonna live and grow up in trash as long as you keep doing this.”

The video has gone viral on social media, sparking debate on public cleanliness and the importance of early education in civic habits. According to NDTV, among those who weighed in was Union Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, who reposted the video on his Instagram with a caption, “Pls sensitise.”

‘Sorry you had this experience. We must work harder to teach them better,” a user wrote. “Unbelievable that they don’t understand that it’s their country they should be proud of it but instead these kids make a mess of it,” another user commented.

“No manners those children. No parenting. At least you tried,” a third user reacted. “Look at the whole of India.., they don’t care about their environment,” a fourth user said.
