As heavy downpour lashed Rajasthan, videos of devastation in several parts emerged on social media. One such video shows a close shave of a man who stood close to a wall that collapsed in the blink of an eye. The incident occurred in Jodhpur's Paota locality on Sunday when heavy rain inundated the area. In the dramatic video, which is now viral, a man is seen standing just metres away from the wall when it suddenly collapses. From what appears in the video, the man stepped out to open the gate of his house when part of the gate tumbled into an adjacent vacant land. The video also captures visible cracks on the ground that triggered the collapse. Sharing the video, an Instagram handle @popkeeda, wrote, "In Jodhpur’s Polo Second locality, a house wall collapsed during heavy rainfall on Sunday, raising concerns about construction safety in the region. The shocking incident was captured on CCTV, showing the sudden fall of the wall while people were nearby. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. Locals are urging authorities to inspect weak structures before the monsoon intensifies further." Watch here: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pop Keeda (@popkeeda) Meanwhile, the Meteorological Centre Jaipur issued an orange alert for several districts, including, Kota, Bundi, Tonk, Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Jodhpur, Jalore, Chittorgarh, and Bikaner districts. According to a report in Bhaskar English, a dilapidated two-story house collapsed late Monday night in Kankaroli, Rajsamand, resulting in the death of one person and serious injuries to a woman. The report stated that four people were inside the house located in Dhora Mohalla when the incident unfolded. While two managed to escape safely, the other two were trapped under the debris. Local residents carried out the rescue and rushed the victims to the hospital. One of them succumbed to injuries, while the woman remains seriously injured.
