At the onset of the nine-day-long festival, several men and women dance to the tune of garba events organised at apartment complexes, offices, and other places. Amid the festivities, a video of a young man playing garba and reading a book simultaneously is gaining traction on social media.
Shared by an X user, the video shows the youth dressed in a brown kurta and jeans and effortlessly following the garba choreography while holding a book in his hands. While his fellow performers can be seen smiling at him, he seems immersed in his book. “Padhne wale bacche kahi bhi padh lete hai (focused students can study anywhere) just got real,” the caption on the video read.

“Ye video mummy ke haath nahi lagna chahiye (This video should not reach my mother),” a third user reacted. “UPSC ke liye prepare ho raha hai (He might be preparing for UPSC exams),” another user joked.
Last week, a garba event in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was cancelled after the Bajrang Dal raised objections over the organiser’s faith. According to reports, the event has been taking place in the neighbourhood for the last 35 years. This year, the outfit alleged that the organisers were using the event to cultivate relationships between Hindu women and Muslim men.
