In a harrowing incident, a man carrying a snake was filmed begging for alms from passengers aboard the Ahmedabad Sabarmati Express. The video of the incident is now being widely circulated, drawing criticism, and prompting the Indian Railways to intervene. The now-viral clip, shared by an X handle @draghu888, captures the man in question parading what appears to be a non-venomous snake, possibly a rat snake, just inches away from passengers, causing fear and discomfort among them. Several passengers are seen handing money to the man as he moves through the train. According to the post, the incident occurred between Mungaoli and Bina junction in Gujarat. The account also directed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to look into the incident, stating, "We will require your journey details (PNR / UTS no.) & mobile no. preferably via DM. You may also raise your concern directly on or dial 139 for speedy redressal - RPF India." "This isn't entertainment—it's extortion exploiting vulnerable people," a user wrote. Another user demanded the man's arrest. "Arrest him," the person wrote. "Using a Snake to extort money is the same as using weapons like Knife or Gun," a third user reacted. The incident came to light at a time when a woman, reportedly travelling without a ticket, was seen arguing with the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE). She accused a staff member of misbehaving with her. The video sparked outrage, with users asking authorities to take appropriate action against her.
