Additional DCP Vikram Raghuvanshi ordered a probe into the matter after the video triggered an outrage on social media (Image source: @HateDetectors/X)A traffic policeman in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, is receiving backlash after a video of him brutally assaulting a man for standing close to the Governor’s convoy emerged on social media. The incident occurred at the Anand Nagar intersection.
The viral footage displays the traffic constable shoving the man to the ground, kicking and slapping him. According to a post by an X handle, Hate Detector, Vikram Raghuvanshi, additional deputy commissioner of police (DCP), ordered an assistant commissioner of police (ACP)-level probe into the matter after the video triggered outrage on social media.
“It was the convoy of His Excellency the Governor, who has Z+ security. The motorcade moves at high speed, and despite being warned by the police, the individual still approached the convoy. You are unidentified-why are you going near the convoy? An investigation has been ordered into this matter,” Raghuvanshi said.

The incident did not sit well with numerous social media users, who slammed the policeman’s action. “it’s not new, every day picture of poor people here,” a user wrote. “This is horrible,” another user commented.
“Power should protect, not humiliate. A traffic cop kicking and slapping a man just because a Governor’s convoy is passing by? This is not law enforcement; it’s misuse of power. The common man’s dignity is not expendable,” a third user wrote.
