However, the legendary Indian actor Johnny Lever was already making waves in the stand-up scene in India and abroad long before YouTube, Netflix, or Amazon made comedy specials an international hit.

Lever’s comedy is in a league of its own—his unique style remains unmatched even today. Recently, an old clip of him performing has gone viral, reminding everyone of his incredible comic timing. In the video, Lever jokes about disco music and dancing, almost turning his humour into a musical performance, all while a drummer plays along in the background.
