A video of frustrated passengers, scheduled to travel by an IndiGo flight, screeching and yelling at Mumbai airport ground staff has ignited social media chatter. The viral clip captures the intense interaction between the passengers and women ground staffers near a boarding gate.

According to the video shared on an X handle @gharkekalesh, the airline allegedly failed to notify its passengers about the delayed flight, making them wait for over five hours. The video begins with an angry man demanding an answer or an update from the ground staff. Several other passengers join him. “Dusre sab flights chale gaye, yeh kyun nhi jaa raha hai? (Other flights have left; what’s holding back this flight?),” a woman asks. Towards the end of the video, the passengers ask the security to call the manager.

Shared on September 28, the video amassed over 336,90,000 views, sparking a sea of mixed reactions. While a section of users hailed the ground staff for holding their calm, many slammed the airline for harassing its passengers. A user wrote, “He is so frustrated. But the crew can’t do anything as it’s in their control to stop the delay. I have seen such frustration in Australia when flights are delayed. They have so much patience and respect for crew members.” Another user commented, “How weirdly is that man behaving?! I understand delayed flights can be frustrating but he can’t get into her face. Also, ground staffs are just helpless they can’t really do anything about it.”

“If being late by 5 minutes can get you denied for boarding the plane then, Airlines should also be charged or fined for every hour they delay the flight,” a third user wrote.

Early this month, an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Doha was delayed, leaving passengers waiting in the aircraft for almost five hours. According to reports, the passengers were further asked to deboard the plane and wait in a holding area.
