Virat Kohli achieved a significant milestone, scoring his 51st One Day International (ODI) century to guide India to victory over Pakistan in Sunday’s ICC Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium. Now, Pakistan needs Bangladesh to beat New Zealand on Monday, followed by a win over Bangladesh in their final group match, with the net run rate likely becoming a crucial factor in staying in the championship.

Kohli, the Indian cricket star, brought up his landmark century off 111 balls, including seven boundaries. He sealed his century with a boundary off the final ball, sending cricket enthusiasts across the globe into a frenzy. Business tycoon Anand Mahindra hailed Kohli’s performance, calling him the “chosen one.” Sharing a picture of Kohli from his innings, Mahindra wrote, “You know you are a ‘chosen one’ when your match-winning stroke also precisely delivers you your century…”

Several fans took the opportunity to applaud Kohli, with one saying, “A special player. Always want to finish the game without leaving it to others.” Another fan commented, “Virat reserved his best against Pakistan. That’s why he is our favourite.. India’s bowlers restricted Pakistan to 241 all out. Saud Shakeel was the top scorer for Pakistan, making 62 runs off 76 balls, while captain Mohammad Rizwan contributed 46 from 77 balls. The duo put together a 104-run partnership for the third wicket.

On Sunday, the Indian cricket team arrived at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium just 35 minutes before the toss for their high-voltage clash against Pakistan, after getting caught in Dubai’s heavy traffic. Both teams’ buses were delayed, but it was Pakistan’s bus that managed to reach the stadium first. The Indian team arrived with only 35 minutes remaining before the toss. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first.
