The Commissioner of Food Safety inspected several eateries at the Moazzam Jahi Market area in Hyderabad and found expired products sold at two popular food outlets — Karachi Bakery and Bilal Ice Cream. Their official handle on X informed that multiple unlabelled products were found at Karachi Bakery.

While the Bilal Ice Cream outlet was found operating without any valid licence and registration, Karachi Bakery is under fire for storing expired stock of rusks, biscuits, candy, chocolate cakes, toasts, and buns worth Rs 5,200.

“Task force has conducted inspections at Moazzam Jahi Market area recently. Bilal Ice Cream. The outlet and their manufacturing unit have been found operating without any valid license/registration. Fake brand water bottles found. Notice issued and action will be taken,” the Commissioner of Food Safety wrote on X.

In another thread, they said Karachi Bakery violated the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations. “Karachi Bakery. Expired stocks of Rusks, biscuits, candy, chocolate cakes, toasts and buns worth Rs 5,200 were discarded. Use by dates not displayed on pastries and cakes, thereby violating the FSSAI regulations. Multiple unlabelled products found violating FSSAI,” they added.

The post triggered several reactions with users slamming the eateries over safety and hygiene. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Close down the bakery and Ice cream parlour. No compromise on health issues.”

Another user commented, “Karachi bakery is habitual offender violator of safety and hygiene. Their license to be cancelled once for all and black list them. Pls go back to your records and see how many times they were caught.”
