Amid the ongoing backlash that Hardik Pandya is facing from Mumbai Indians (MI) fans for taking the captaincy in the current season of Indian Premier League (IPL) in place of Rohit Sharma, the cricketer was seen singing ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ and grooving to the music with his family.

Dressed in a lavender-coloured sequinned kurta and white pyjama, the Mumbai Indians captain sang the devotional aarti along with his brother Krunal Pandya. The video also gave a glimpse of his family members and pet dogs. Sharing the video on Instagram, Krunal Pandya wrote, “Grateful.”

The video garnered over a million views and reactions from the cricketer’s fans. “Greatest, these IPL kids don’t know your value sir,” a user commented. “My favorites!! Yessss!!! Was waiting for such glimpses of the pandya brothers together for so long!!! CUTESTTT OMGGG And seeing you guys in traditionals is the best and cutest. love you two sooo muchhh!!!!! Omgggg I’m obsessing!!! Hare Krishna,” another user wrote.

Hardik Pandya took over Mumbai Indians as captain, replacing the franchise’s most successful skipper Rohit Sharma. This triggered an outrage among cricket enthusiasts, leading to trolls against Pandya. On April 3, the crowd in Ahmedabad Hyderabad and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai booed at Pandya, prompting an intervention from commentator Sanjay Manjreker, who asked the crowd to “behave”.

Earlier, Hardik Pandya paid a visit to the Somnath Temple in Gujarat. The video of the cricketer offering milk to Lord Shiva and chanting slokas took over social media.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will lock horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 10 at 7.30 pm at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan.
