The post quickly gained traction, drawing an array of reactions. But not everyone saw it as a quirky travel hack. Several users argued that the airfare shown was simply an off-season anomaly. “Sometime Delhi to Leh is Rs 15,000 ticket. Abhi may be less as Leh has sub zero temperatures in winter and no water. So no one goes there in winter,” a user wrote. Another user pointed out, “These are off-season prices. Look at the prices of the tourist season. Please post again in February and March. Do taxis have off-season prices?” They also shared a calendar screenshot showing fares climbing to Rs 2,399 in late February.

According to Google Flights, off-season round-trip fares to Ladakh (Leh) from major Indian cities typically range from Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000. Prices are lowest during the winter months, January to March and November to December, when travellers can often find tickets for under Rs 15,000, and advance one-way bookings from Delhi or Srinagar may drop to Rs 3,000–Rs 6,000.
In contrast, peak season is June to September. The priciest months, May through August, regularly feature average round-trip tickets between Rs 25,000 and over Rs 50,000, depending on the origin city and how early the booking is made.
