In a world where kindness can sometimes seem to be rare, a story from Delhi has shown just how powerful one good deed can be. A woman recently got her phone back after her daughter accidentally dropped it in the crowded parking area of V3S Mall in Nirman Vihar — thanks to a stranger’s honesty. A Reddit user, with the handle u/tedlassoo0, shared the story, saying he and his family were out for a movie night. As they settled into their seats, his sister realised she couldn’t find their mother’s phone. Panic set in as they tried to call the missing phone, without knowing if they would ever find it again. To their surprise, someone answered. On the other end was a stranger, who reassured them that he had found the phone and was willing to return it. The family was both relieved and hesitant — they didn’t know if they could trust him. The man, a carnival worker at Crossriver Mall in Karkardooma, asked them to meet him to pick up the phone. Rushing to the other mall, the family even skipped a few traffic signals, desperate to retrieve the lost phone. They found the stranger waiting at the mall entrance with the phone in hand. When the family offered to buy him and his brother food as a gesture of gratitude, he politely declined and accepted only a small amount of cash. “Super grateful to him,” the Reddit user said, touched by the man’s integrity, adding a word of thanks to the movie theatre guard, who let them return to their seats to finish the film. "Honestly, I met the kindest and rudest people in Delhi. Recently, an auto driver spent so much of his time and fuel to search for a church that I was trying to attend, and he did not take extra money than the one we initially agreed upon,” he wrote. Another Redditor shared, “It happened to me too. The uber driver picked up my phone when I called it, it had slipped from my pocket into the cab. He told us he was waiting at a haldiram restaurant and we reached there after about 10 minutes. He gave us the phone intact and didn't even take money. The auto driver that took us to haldiram was also shocked, he said ki kisi local auto me gira hota toh nhi milta. Needless to say I was very careful not to drop the phone in HIS auto lmao.” “Aur ek madam thi BMW wali, wo gamle chura kar le gayi Noida me,” another Redditor wrote referring to a recent incident that happened in Delhi.
