A woman in Bengaluru had an unexpected moment at a café when a fellow customer silently dropped a handwritten note on her table—not with a phone number, but with a complaint.

Sujata Yadav, who was in the middle of a Zoom meeting for work, later shared the encounter on X. She posted a picture of the napkin, which read, “You can be heard all the way here.” Sharing the photo, Yadav wrote, “I was working at a café recently and was mid-Zoom call when a stranger walks by and drops a napkin on my table. It’s not a phone number. It’s a noise complaint. Humbled.”

Take a look at the post:

The post quickly went viral, sparking a discussion about whether cafes should double as workspaces. Some users were firmly against it.

“A café is not your personal office. People who are just trying to have a cup of coffee should not have to be forced to attend your Zoom meetings,” one person commented. Another wrote, “Thank god someone told you. Same goes for buses, trains, and other public places.”

Beyond the noise issue, others pointed out concerns about discussing work in public. “Noise is one thing, I’m also concerned about confidential information being discussed in public!” one user said.

And then, of course, there was the completely off-topic but hilarious observation from someone who zoomed in on her AirPods: “Who gets ‘dental floss’ engraved on the AirPods?”

The incident has once again sparked conversations about café etiquette, with many questioning whether remote workers need to be more mindful of their surroundings.
