In a troubling event in Bengaluru, a woman was forced to leap from a moving auto to flee a perilous situation. The auto-rickshaw, booked through the Namma Yatri app, was supposed to take her from Horamavu to Thanisandra. However, the driver, reportedly under the influence, veered off course and drove her towards Hebbal.
Despite the woman’s repeated pleas, the driver refused to stop the vehicle, leaving her with no choice but to jump out of the moving auto. Her husband, Azhar Khan, shared the ordeal on X, tagging the Bengaluru City Police. He wrote, “Namma Yatri Auto Issue! My wife booked an auto from Horamavu to Thanisandra, Bangalore, but the driver was drunk and took her to the wrong location near Hebbal. Despite repeatedly asking him to stop, he didn’t listen, forcing her to jump out of the moving auto.”

Namma Yatri Auto Issue!

According to a report in TOI, Khan recounted how his wife noticed the driver’s suspicious behaviour, including red eyes and erratic conduct, and repeatedly urged him to stop the vehicle. However, her requests were ignored, forcing her to make a drastic decision to protect herself.
As the auto-rickshaw slowed down near a ramp in Nagavara, she seized the moment to jump out. She escaped unhurt, but the ordeal didn’t end there—the driver approached her and tried to persuade her to get back in. Staying composed, she refused, opted to pay for the ride online, and found another auto to get home safely.
Addressing the incident, Namma Yatri responded to Khan’s post, saying, “Azhar, thank you for connecting us with the police on this matter. Rest assured, we’ve taken immediate action by suspending the driver’s account from our platform. Please DM us if you need any further assistance.”
Please DM your contact number and auto details.
